After over a full day's delay, Valve has now released the PC demo for Left 4 Dead 2 via their Steam service for those folks who pre-ordered the zombie co-op shooter sequel. Valve has not commented on why the PC demo was delayed from its planned released on Tuesday (the Xbox 360 version was released as scheduled) but early this morning people who had previously pre-loaded the PC demo got a pretty massive update via Steam

As promised, the demo has some levels from the game's Parish campaign with access to all of the new melee weapons in the full version along with all of the game's new special "infected" zombies. The demo will unlock for everyone else on November 2 and the full version of Left 4 Dead 2 will ship on November 17.

I'll be on tonight playing. Love the melee weapons. Seems pretty cool so far. God I love Left 4 Dead 1, so this is gonna rock.

i'll give this a try when the demo is released to the rest of us. If i have more fun with it than L4D, i'll pick it up.

Its more fun than the original, but suffers the exact same flaw in that it only takes one person being a dumbass to ruin the game for the other 7 and there is no system to weed out the dumber people. If they introduced a system where plays could 'flag' people they didn't like and have them show up with an icon or a different color or some other identifying mark it would reduce the number of 'false start' games.

Yes there is ignore player features. Ethereal is refering to some sort of "Karma" system which I have NEVER seen in an FPS game. I mean, how many dumb asses did we deal with in BF:1942? Or in BF:2? Or in MW3? Or in MW4?

Saying that you have to deal with idiot players in a game is pretty broad, since that is any online game. And how did we solve that flaw in the past games? By getting a lot of BKs in the game so we didn't have to play with idiots!

L4D 1 was freaking awesome. I never had a problem with idiots. Just with rage quits.

L4D 2 should be just as awesome!

Why they didn't give L4D the TF2 treatment and actually support it is beyond me.

TF2 is their testbed-baby, L4D is their cash cow.
