glad i'm not the only one not wearing the rose colored glasses blizzard has been handing out.

Each campaign is ~30 missions, or an entire starcraft game of ye olde.  No reason to argue, we all know the real reason you don't like it is because you can't beat a ling rush.

didn't realize it was 30 missions, figured it was like 10-15 like RTS games like to try to do nowadays (ive seen this in a few). That is quite a bit better. Are the following campaigns gonna be the same number of missions, or have they said?

Yes they are all about 30 missions. And they are done similarly to the DoW2 campaign where you choose which mission and get different rewards and stuff.

eh, i'll at least give it a look at Quakecon on your comp or somethin

Its also incorporating a RPG style of points earning to unlock and buy upgrades. Huge fan before - will be getting this and its probably going to be a huge game. The three packs will be just like buying upgrades or map packs.

I would also venture to say its going to be as big as the original which unless you were living under a rock devastated all online games during its tenure which I think lasted 5 years.

T, it's even worse than you think! The corporate suits at Activision decided to do the following things to try to make Starcraft 2 into a "MMO" style money maker:

* No built in lan support (you've gotta play on Bnet for multiplayer)
* Your cd key is tied to your bnet account (you can't let friends borrow the cd)
* Each campaign release will likely have new units and force people to buy them to stay competitive online
* "Premium maps" (or the custom maps that made WCIII and starcraft into decent games) will have to be purchased.

Let me reiterate that last point: you have to BUY custom maps now!

I'm sure that Starcraft II is very well polished and fun to play. Still, I'm pretty pissed at the premium price and added price points that Blizzard has made for the game.

I can only wait to see Diablo III's price points...
